Kaya Chikitsa

Kaya Chikitsa is the core clinical branch of Ayurveda dealing with General Medicine. The word "Kaya" refers to Agni (the digestive fire and metabolism), and "Chikitsa" refers to its treatment. It focuses on diagnosing and treating systemic disorders and restoring the normal physiological functions of the body.

Department Objectives :

  • To impart comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of various general medical disorders according to Ayurvedic principles.
  • To provide in-depth knowledge of different therapeutic procedures and their practical applications.
  • To train students in understanding the core concepts of Nidana (etiology), Samprapti (pathogenesis), and Chikitsa (treatment).
  • To encourage evidence-based research in Ayurvedic medicine for managing lifestyle disorders, metabolic diseases, and chronic illnesses.

Importance of Kaya Chikitsa :

As the fundamental branch of Ashtanga Ayurveda, Kaya Chikitsa provides the foundation for holistic healing. By emphasizing the correction of Agni and systemic balance, it offers sustainable solutions for modern lifestyle diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, and Autoimmune disorders, ensuring the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the patient.
